Hi – I’m the husband of Amanda Muñoz, an HMS classmate of Greg’s and a friend both in Boston and in Palo Alto. A fellow amateur musician, I recorded with Greg a couple of times over the years. A lot of people have posted songs by Greg, and I thought I’d add my own – one that I don’t think a lot of people have heard, and one that I think captures the more poignant side of Greg’s musical expression.

There was always something I loved about Greg’s recordings. They weren’t always the highest fidelity – they were distorted, the volumes of the different instruments were off, and he usually stopped at “rough draft” stage. And let’s face it, he wasn’t the world’s greatest singer. But there was something about his voice – it came through so clear, so pure, so real. He sang like he spoke: pure Greg. Even now when I listen to his songs his presence behind the microphone is so vivid, so lifelike. There was such joy and fun in it, you couldn’t help but smile. I keep wondering how we couldn’t see that he wasn’t smiling himself.
Anyway, I just wanted to share.
Thanks so much for sharing – I absolutely love this. Is there any way you can make it available for download? Post an mp3?
